What started out as a daily challenge to brush up on some typography design skills turned into something a little more.
I wanted to create a highly stylized, contemporary alphabet that could be utilized as ABC blocks for the enjoyment of both children and adults — the goal being for individuals to identify and recognize that common letter forms can be approached in very unique and interesting ways.
The design of each letter borrows graphical elements from its predecessor with small details tying them together as a whole.

As I was finishing up school, I needed a project to keep me busy and my skills sharp. Each letter took between 30-60min from concept to final product. It got to the point where I’d think about the daily letter all day, and keep my eye out for unique forms as I went about my day.
As I completed each one, I’d post it to my Dribbble page. Over the course of the month, my followers tripled as each letter got more attention. Seeing that people were liking this, we got the idea to take it from a small digital project to a product that people could interact with. What better product than a set of alphabet blocks?
